    Job Description:

    As the Senior Director of Marketing & Ecommerce, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive ecommerce strategy that drives growth, profitable customer acquisition, and LTV in a way that aligns with our brand and mission. You will own both marketing and site merchandising, with the goal of growing direct-to-consumer revenue.

    The ideal candidate has a proven track record of innovating and scaling DTC businesses, building high performing teams, optimizing the ecommerce funnel and delivering quality customer experiences. They will ideally live near San Francisco, CA, where our office is located; we are currently hybrid and come into the office twice a week.

    This is a key role at the that reports to and works closely with our founder and CEO.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop a cross-channel marketing strategy to scale customer acquisition and optimize retention, while at the same time supporting our brand values and mission:

    • Own the seasonal marketing calendar. Manage the marketing team and work closely with the creative team to execute effective campaigns cohesively across all channels including website, email, SMS, paid ads, direct mail, and social

    • Manage our digital marketing agency to achieve goals around traffic, revenue, customer acquisition and CAC

    • Optimize the email channel to meet KPI goals while also delivering an excellent and on-brand customer experience across both campaigns and triggered journeys

    • Ensure that our brand collaborations meet marketing objectives

    • Partner with the social team to drive growth across our social, influencer and affiliate channels

    • Maximize the effectiveness of our direct mail program in conjunction with our DM agency

    • Lead the day-to-day operations of our ecommerce platform on Shopify Plus, ensuring optimal site performance, functionality, and user experience for both new visitors and existing customers:

    • In partnership with our site merchandising coordinator and planner, develop and implement a merchandising strategy that delivers a best-in-class shopping experience through optimization of catalog management, filters, editorial content, sorting rules, and search results. Ensure site is QCed

    • Drive AOV by optimizing cross-sell and upsell recommendations across the customer journey

    • Build best in class SEO practices for improved rankings

    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices, ensuring our ecommerce presence remains competitive and innovative. Evaluate and implement new site features and apps as needed

    • Regularly analyze website performance, conversion rates, and customer behavior to pinpoint areas for enhancement and execute data-driven optimizations

    • Implement A/B testing on the website to measure the performance of Ux elements and merchandising content with the goal of continuous improvement

    • Develop an ongoing consumer insight feedback loop to help support and drive key business decisions and the overall consumer experience

    • Lead and execute the website development roadmap, including a site redesign planned for Q2 2024

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including planning, product development, creative, wholesale and operations to ensure seamless communication of crucial information that impacts our product, inventory and marketing strategies

    • Own the collection and analysis of data, including implementing new tools and reporting where necessary. Provide monthly and quarterly reports and updates on KPIs and recommendations for improvement

    • Manage third-party service providers including our contract web developers, Ux designers, Shopify, and our marketing agencies

    • Manage and mentor our marketing and site merchandising team members

    ABOUT YOU

    • 8-10+ years of experience in ecommerce, marketing, product management, ideally in a small-to medium-sized DTC brand

    • Shopify Plus experience is strongly preferred, as is Google Analytics experience

    • A thinker and a doer. You have a talent for conceptualizing new ideas and big-picture strategies, but also love putting them in motion. You feel equally comfortable building a marketing plan and analyzing a spreadsheet

    • Experience developing and managing a team. A strong team leader who values collaboration, communication, mentorship and transparency.

    • Data-driven and analytical. You always try to inform decisions with data. When data is not available, you’re comfortable defining and driving the necessary data collection and analysis.

    • Customer-obsessed: You care deeply about building the best possible experience for our customers,
    and leverage data, testing and market research to do so
