    Job Description

    This is an entry level position in the Electrical & Instrumentation field. Under direction of Lead E&I Technicians, assists senior technicians in the performance of various duties required to efficiently maintain process and electrical equipment throughout the plant; ensures safety standards and good housekeeping in all work areas.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Promotes Safety and Environmental Awareness on all jobs.

    • Follow Site Electrical Safety Policy (NFPA 70E) when performing diagnostics and repairs.

    • Practices Good Housekeeping

    • Assists Senior Technicians in performing various duties.

    • Equipment exposure includes, but is not limited to: Various recording, regulating, and control instruments. Valves, components, and systems involving pressure, temperature and flow. Level switches, pressure switches and limit switches. Generators, transformers, tachometers, switch gear, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, transmission systems, lighting and signal systems. Electronic drive systems and controls and PLC/DCS Systems.

    • Use all types of electronic test equipment to troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation problems including: transmation meters, ammeters, AC-DC voltmeters, oscilloscopes, multi-amp circuit breaker testers, meggers, PLC/Drive troubleshooting software, etc.

    • Uses care and judgment to avoid injury to self or others or damage to equipment.

    • Responds to all Mill Fires for assistance as needed.

    • Assignments and duties may vary at times based upon job & skill requirements.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related electrical and/or instrumentation experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    ADVANCEMENT

    • Successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance to higher technician levels after completing the apprenticeship.
