    Job Description

    Summary:

    This position serves as the logistics point person for daily functional transactions and troubleshooting for regional distribution centers and subcontracting partners.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Balance cost with inventory and service including on time delivery.

    • Work closely with RDC’s, Customer Service, Planning & Scheduling, Inventory Management, Shipping, Load Planning Team, Sales and Marketing, and Product Management, to maintain an efficient operation and to ensure on-time delivery to our customers.

    • Manage the 3PL daily product flow and inventory accuracy and strive for continuous improvement to ensure maximum value is obtained from external logistics partners and that cost, service, and quality are within expected levels.

    • Ensure that all RDCs are properly stocked and cost centers are running within expected budgets.

    • Foster the RDC relationships and develop best practices procedures for multi-site warehouses and conduct training as needed.

    • Manage the Subcontracting process flow and conduct training as needed.

    • Must display pro-active, self-starting management skills when performing the functions of planning, organizing, directing/motivating, and controlling

    • Well developed communications and motivational skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

    Additional Information

    • Knowledge of Customer Service, IPS, Manufacturing, Finishing and Logistics processes.

    • Knowledge of the paper industry and the customer base

    • Customer focus, understanding of the logistics process within order management.

    • Professional interpersonal skills, probing and negotiation skills, prioritization, complex problem solving, and excellent communication.

    • Ability to work and make decisions with speed and accuracy.

    • Ability to work in a team environment with rapidly changing, time pressured-demands.

    • Proficient with software systems (SAP and OptiVision).

    • Possess general business competencies, familiarity with transportation modes, costs and SAP warehousing configuration.

    • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Three to five years experience in a warehousing environment with transportation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
