Managing Principal - MEP Engineering Firm - Arlington VA
Critical Facility Experience a plus but not required
Responsibilities:
- Manage engineering design projects, designs and plans, provided and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary electrical / mechanical engineering design role for large scale engineering design projects
- Run day to day operations within the electrical/mechanical engineering department
- Act as Executive Project Manager on the firm's most significant projects originating from this office for multi-site projects, assure project consistency in terms of project delivery and client expectations.
- Insure the quality service / successful end product is provided to the offices' client base to ensure client satisfaction
- Insure that office project performance, progress and resources are being reported in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain forecasting of upcoming projects / deliverables / receivables / collections. P/L responsibility, metrics reporting
- Generate repeat business with effective marketing techniques to achieve revenue objectives in order to create repeat business, further penetration of existing relationships, and developing new relationships with new clients
- Support other offices as needed to support regional goals
- Track progress of office projects against goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets
- Comprehend and develop a business plan that addresses market segments sold into and what solutions are available through the Company’s various service offerings
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policies. Put these in clear concise work statement for the field
- Represent the company in project meetings
Qualifications: - 10-15 years experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
- Licensed PE / RA a Plus
- LEED AP a plus
- PMP Certification a Plus
- Experience with Electrical System designs such as UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), Generators, Switchgears, and Mechanical Systems such as HVAC, CFD (Fluid Dynamics) Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC / CRAH Units and Air Handling Units
- Experience managing large Data Center Projects / or similar complex Design Projects through the design phase a MUST
- Experience managing or leading a Design Engineering Firm a strong Plus!
- Effective Communicator – emails, phone and face to face
- Strong organizational, communication, reporting, forecasting abilities
- P/L experience
