  • Responsibilities

    Northwest Pump is seeking a detail-oriented Plan Center Estimator to join our team. This role will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for petroleum equipment, parts, and accessories used in fuel system construction, maintenance, and upgrades. If you’re analytical, organized, and ready to play a key role in delivering competitive proposals that support our customers’ and vendors’ success, we’d love to hear from you!

    What will this position do?

    • Monitor plan centers and other sources for new project leads.
    • Review engineered narratives, plans, and drawings to determine project requirements.
    • Analyze specifications and prepare accurate material take-offs and cost estimates.
    • Obtain vendor pricing and confirm product availability.
    • Create and submit professional bid proposals with the sales team.
    • Ensure estimates cover all applicable costs (start-up, freight, taxes, etc.).
    • Communicate with engineers, municipalities, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to clarify details.
    • Track bid statuses and follow up on opportunities.
    • Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

    What are we looking for?

    • 2+ years of estimating experience (construction supply, industrial distribution, or fueling equipment preferred).
    • Ability to read and interpret construction narratives, drawings, and specifications.
    • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Highly organized with strong math, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
    • Proven reliability with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Comfortable operating standard office equipment and performing online research.
    • Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Flexible and adaptable to shifting project scopes and priorities.
    • Bonus skills: CADD, PLC Controls, and/or a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field.

    • This is a full-time position, working regular business hours, Monday through Friday
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, reference checks, and motor vehicle record check
