Job Summary:
Chief Operating Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership across the National Fitness Partners operational platform. Accountable to align strategic direction with CEO, C-Suite, Board, and Internal and External Partners’ expectations related to financial outcomes; operational excellence; employee growth and development; club member experiences and market expansion. Essential Job Functions:
In collaboration with CEO and C-Suite, determine long term vision and operational planning focused on exceeding expectations of all constituents related to financial outcomes; operational excellence; employee growth and development; club member experiences and market expansion.
Reports directly to the CEO and works cross-functionally with the C-Suite team to create and execute the vision and mission for the company by building successful teams; driving revenue; increasing profitability; enhancing the member experience; and growing the membership base
Lead National Fitness Partner’s and Chief Executive Officer’s mission of being the top franchise group in the Planet Fitness system by building a culture focused on servant leadership and delivering world class customer service
Leads scalable strategic initiatives and executes operational tactics that support National Fitness Partners’ future business and growth strategies
Oversees all club operations (1,000+ employees), including all Regional Directors (direct reports), Regional Managers, General Managers and Club Staff, as well as all operational support functions including VP of Operational Support (direct report), IT Director, Equipment, Facilities & Maintenance Managers and Technicians and Construction Team members (remodels, new club development)
Leads with inspiration and Invests in the ongoing growth and development of staff and future leaders, creating an unparalleled and world-class culture
Monitors and analyzes operational metrics to assess results, identify opportunity and drive action
Participates in annual budgeting process and monitors success through monthly P&L/KPI business reviews
Responsible for all aspects of the P&L to include revenue growth, cost control, labor management and capital expenditures.
Partners with Real Estate team on execution of new club expansion strategy; exploration of new market growth opportunities; and directs acquisition and integration processes
In partnership with PFHQ Business Coach, upholds the Planet Fitness operating standards and shares best practices across the organization.
Job Requirements:
·Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
5+ years experience in a VP or Executive level operational leadership role (required)
Prior experience leading multi-unit operations in a high-growth Consumer & Retail concept, preferably within Fitness industry, Retail or Quick-Service/Fast-Casual or Casual Dining Restaurants (required)
Previous experience with multi-unit P&L management and budget planning (required)
Must be people & detail oriented, self-motivated, adaptable to change, thrive in high-pressure situations and able to work independently
Must be willing to travel into all current and future markets that NFP operates and work extended hours when necessary to drive business initiatives
Physical Demands
Primarily a sedentary role requiring extended periods of time performing work on a computer. Occasional lifting of boxes and supplies of 25 lbs.
