  • Responsibilities

    Position: General Staff Accountant

    Reports to: Accounting Manager

    Department: Accounting

    Purpose: Responsible for day-to-day accounting functions of the Accounting team and for assisting with the accurate and timely execution of closing processes.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.

    Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.

    Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.

    Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits.

    Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

    Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.

    Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.

    Ensuring compliance with GAAP (as needed).

    Assisting the CFO, VP of Accounting/Controller, and the Senior Accountant as needed.

    Ensuring compliance and understanding of all federal, state, and municipal tax codes.

    Support Accounts Payable team as needed.

    Ad hoc analyses, reporting, and projects as needed.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.

    At least two (2) years of General accounting experience.

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Working knowledge of GAAP.

    Strong numeracy and analytical skills.

    Good problem-solving and time management skills.

    Highly organized and detail-oriented.

    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software. NetSuite accounting software experience, a plus.

    Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

    The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, exempt position. Under the Regulations, Part 541, an exempt employee is one who is not entitled to the minimum wage or overtime pay protections of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This position may work outside of normal business hours to include evenings and weekends as needed.

    Travel: No travel is expected for this position.
