    The Director of Global IT and Business Analytics will provide strategic direction and operational leadership on all matters relating to Taymax Group’s technology needs. The Director will bring their expertise in information technology management and best practices to the Global Operations group, to ensure all technical solutions delivered enable Taymax’s global Field and Operations teams to deliver an amazing Planet Fitness Club Member and Taymax Team Member (employee) experience.

    The day to day focus of this position will be on the key areas of system development, system support and service delivery for our corporate office as well as our growing fleet of over 60 Planet Fitness clubs in California, Texas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Ontario, Canada. This position will have ultimate ownership of maintaining and optimizing all in-store and back-office systems. This Team Member will be Taymax’s technology link with the franchisor, responsible for understanding, influencing and implementing corporate requirements, with specific focus on PCI compliance and in-club network performance in support of the member experience.

    The Director will also be expected to stay abreast of emerging retail technology trends and map these trends to innovative solutions that meet organizational needs while also recommending new technologies that can add value to Taymax’s Operations and Field teams. The Director will also aide in the development of business analytics solutions that enable effective measurement of, and accountability for key performance indicators.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities

    Oversee global IT for Taymax’s Field, Operational and back office teams.

    Develop internal processes and procedures to ensure maximum uptime while minimizing in-store technology disruptions.

    Oversee initial follow up on network and other in-store technology issues as reported by club staff.

    Identify and manage third-party vendors’ that can supplement remote assistance needs as well as provide in-store support as deemed necessary.

    Ensure all in-store networks are compliant with Planet Fitness Franchisor’s standards, with specific focus on PCI, HIPAA and Club and Team Member experience issues.

    Work with the Director of Facilities to develop an effective reporting and triaging process for issues, ensuring a timely resolution to reported problems.

    Work with Global Operations to develop platforms, processes and technical solutions that enable measurable focus and reporting on key performance indicators and trends.

    Ensure all new clubs open with fully functional, compliant and easy to maintain in-store IT systems.

    Manage IT system remediation and improvement projects.

    Skills & Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and at least ten years of experience in multi-unit retail IT, ideally with a franchised brand, managing in-store retail networks, with ownership for ensuring functionality as well as compliance (PCI, HIPAA, etc.).

    Hands on experience with Firewall-managed environments.

    Demonstrated knowledge of VoIP phone management, experience with Shoretel/Mitel a plus.

    Experience with migrating to and managing Office 365, SharePoint and associated systems and platforms.

    Experience managing retail IT systems with a heavy reliance on broadband internet service for both the back of house and member experience.

    Ability to manage, third party vendors, service providers, software providers and internal staff to ensure timely resolution to IT problems.

    Familiarity with Cable and Satellite TV providers to aide in store trouble shooting and issue resolution.

    Experience with A/V a plus.

    This position will be required to travel, as needed, to existing and new clubs to assist with IT needs.

    Physical Demands

    This position is required to talk in person or on the phone. Ability to continuously stand or walk, bend, squat and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. This job is subject to a variety of physical conditions when in the club environment. This job also operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, fax machines.
