    A local, rapidly growing and well-established Planet Fitness Franchisee currently with 39 locations is seeking an experienced Director of Construction to add to their growing team. The responsibilities of this position are currently being handled by the COO with some evolvement from the VPO specifically on the maintenance side.

    The Director of Construction and Maintenance will be responsible for design, planning, directing, purchasing and coordinating construction management activities and staff. Projects include 3-5 new club fit outs per year, 5-7 club remodels per year, ongoing updates on PF brand standards, and renovations of acquired locations.

    The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in development, with at least 2 in a leadership role. The Director of Construction must be enthusiastic about their work and eager to apply new techniques and methods of productivity and time management.

    The Director of Construction & Maintenance will report directly to the COO and work closely with the VPO on needs for existing locations as well as transitioning new builds to regular operations.

    Director of Construction & Maintenance Responsibilities

    Oversee Project Managers and day to day construction operations.

    Mitigate and correct subcontractor issues.

    Manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to Budgeting, Scheduling, Submittals, Change orders

    Participate in project hand-off meeting with COO, VP Ops, Project Coordinator and outsourced design and engineering firms to ensure you understand the project scope of work.

    Coordinate with purchasing, pre-site, and entitlement staff to ensure timely and efficient starts and deliveries.

    Manage the Head of MEPs and Maintenance Supervisor with a team of four techs on daily operational needs for all existing locations including physical plant and equipment repairs.

    Visits project sites weekly to ensure progress and quality.

    Participate in a job autopsy meeting at project completion to discuss any issues, estimate verses actual costs and general project information.

    Review Trade/Vendor invoicing prior to payment submission for accuracy against the purchase order and work completed to satisfaction.

    Director of Construction Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree in construction management preferred.

    At least 2 years of experience in a Director of Construction role within the commercial construction market.

    5+ years of construction experience, with a minimum of 2 of these years in a leadership role preferred.

    Ability to regularly communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve project goals.

    Highly organized with strong analytical skills.

    Demonstrated ability to support the Development team with new project feasibility (cost/timing) analysis

    Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients.

    Ability to successfully communicate with architects, contractors, client’s representatives, and team members.

    Previous experience effectively supervising, training, mentoring and evaluating several project managers at various levels within the organization/team.

    Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Project software. Excellent organizational and time management skills, prioritize, multi-task
