Planet Fitness World Headquarters is searching for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a team focused on enabling the strategic growth and objectives of the company through modernizing the data and analytics platform to enable key business decisions and insights. This role will be integral in building solutions that are intended to differentiate the company through data and data services. As our Business Intelligence Developer, you will be expected to interface directly with business owners and subject matter experts to obtain, consolidate and present data in a meaningful way to drive business decisions, insight, and outcomes through actionable, easy-to-read reports across multiple technologies. You will support day-to-day analytical and reporting needs for the business - from quick answers to projects to strategic initiatives. You will work with business stakeholders and customers across multiple functional areas within the organization, often playing several different roles within a project lifecycle, from inception, providing thought leadership guiding business users toward an optimal solution, to completion, developing and delivering quality work products.

Your Contributions:

Access and analyze data from various databases using Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Google Analytics and other technologies.

Plan, design and develop reporting and analytics solutions using Tableau.

Consolidate data from multiple sources to facilitate the analysis of the data and manipulation needed to produce the necessary reporting work products.

Conduct data analysis to determine the completeness and accuracy of the raw data to determine the feasibility and type of output that can be produced.

Test, validate, and quality check all data elements through new projects and initiatives.

Research data anomalies and recommend corrective actions.

Transform data into actionable, easy-to-read output to drive business decisions, insights and outcomes.

Create standard and non-standard reporting for projects and leaders based on data.

Gather business requirements and use cases from customers and translate those requirements into top-down technical solutions and design documentation across all aspects of the business intelligence solution.

Design and build prototype solutions based on initial business requirements.

Modify reports and reporting functionality as issues/bugs are discovered and/or as a result of changes to source systems or to the reporting toolsets.

Qualifications/Skills:

3 years direct experience building business intelligence solutions or a degree in an equivalent technical program.

An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Information/Computer Sciences or related field.

Demonstrated experience with Tableau.

Demonstrated experience with Google Analytics preferred.

Working knowledge of fundamental statistics, decision analysis, and financial concepts.

Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively while working as part of a team and independently.

Proficient in all variants of SQL.

Strong understanding of data mining (predictive analytics, statistical analysis, knowledge discovery).

Strong understanding of data and infrastructure technologies related to “big data”, data warehousing, data staging and data transformation preferred.

High proficiency in data visualization, business intelligence, data interpretation, presentation and reporting.

Proficiency in Hive, Pig, R, JSON and JavaScript preferred.

Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly with Microsoft Excel and the ability to write and understand VBA preferred.

Proven experience working closely with business owners and subject matter experts to document, design, develop, and deliver actionable reporting solutions is required.

Demonstrated, strong analytical mind.

Strong presentation and public speaking and communication skills desired.

Adaptable with a focus on “Discipline of Execution” to ensure quality of deliverables, adherence to standards and continuous improvement of people, process and tools.

Ability to balance multiple project deadlines and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Ability to work off-hours and provide on-call support as needed.

Experience working in a retail businesses (desired).

Experience working in franchised businesses (desired).
