The PF Headquarters Vendor Management team is searching for a Procurement Category Manager.

    About The Role

    As a member of the Vendor Management Team, the Procurement Category Manager, will help lead and develop third-party vendor programs that provide critical goods and services to the Planet Fitness ecosystem. The Procurement Category Manager will work alongside stakeholders to optimize existing programs and contract with new suppliers to drive operational efficiencies, cost savings, and brand standards.

    The ideal candidate will have the aptitude to immerse themselves into a range of business categories and apply the learned subject matter to a process of conducting requests for proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations, and program development. In This Role You Will

    Develop and track business category KPIs in collaboration with the Vendor Management Team’s data analysts.

    Regularly engage with business stakeholders to identify category procurement needs and present on current vendor performance.

    Foster meaningful relationships with current and prospective vendors’ account management and leadership teams.

    Lead the department’s RFI and RFP initiatives for assigned business categories.

    Serve as business subject matter expert to identify strategic opportunities and potential risks within assigned categories

    Negotiate national and international contracts that leverage Planet Fitness’ size, scale, and franchise network

    Achieve annual cost savings or value targets developed for assigned contracts and supply categories.

    Stay current with trends on the supply market, product innovations and competitors.

    Communicate procurement program(s) best practices, usage trends, and areas for optimization to franchise operators and their teams.

    Work with category business stakeholders to manage ad-hoc issues and service requests.

    About You

    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field

    5+ years of experience in corporate procurement/category management/supply chain management

    Franchise business experience preferred

    Experience developing subject matter expertise in diverse business categories

    Experience leading RFP’s, RFI’s and RFQ’s

    Strong working knowledge of demand planning and forecasting with external partners

    Superior contract review and negotiation skills with a proven history vetting multiple suppliers

    Experience managing and directing external partners with day-to-day priorities and assisting to resolve problems

    Strong business acumen

    Good understanding of Supply Chain Metrics

    Skilled at managing relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

    Comfortable initiating relationships with new vendors and working cross-departmentally

    Proactive problem-solving and critical thinking skills

    Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving

    Highly organized and detail oriented

    Exhibit comfort, ease, and flexibility working in an extremely fast-paced ever-changing, deadline-driven environment
