    Preface:

    FEFA Financial (FEFA) is a federally registered Financial Advisory. We are a very unique company, especially within the financial industry. We do many things differently, and we are proud of that. Our number one priority has nothing to do with maximizing profits, and it never will. Our number one priority is hiring the right people who believe in and live our Core Values because we know that if we do, everything else will fall into place. We know that this approach leads to a better product for our Clients and a work environment that people can't see themselves leaving.

    Position Description:

    As we prepare to enter an extended growth phase as a company, we are looking to bring on advisors but are also open to training those that are looking to become advisors while also assisting with the needed licensing. We have found that in many cases, unlicensed advisors have an easier time adapting to our high standards of financial planning due to the absence of bad habits developed at other firms and that is why we believe in interviewing both already licensed advisors as well as those looking to become licensed.

    We have two types of advisors at FEFA. We have “Retirement Advisors” and “Planning Advisors.” Our Retirement Advisors are focused on acquiring new assets to the firm and our Planning Advisors are focused on retaining Clients through excellent service and financial planning execution.

    We hire people for the position of Planning Advisors. At a later date, if someone wants to, they can become a Retirement Advisor (assuming we agree it is a good fit). However, we want everyone to understand our service and planning standards and that comes from being a Planning Advisor.

    Key Differences from Most Alternative Advisor Positions:

    There are a few ways that we are different from most other firms that many advisors do not find attractive. That is okay. The ones that we want will find these attractive because they align with wanting what is actually best for the Client (even if it is hard)...

    Our financial plans are built in-house, using our proprietary planning model. We do not use 3rd party planning software due to our belief that the primary focus of said software is sales rather than actual planning.

    We make our advisors go to a much more comprehensive level when building and/or executing a person’s financial plan.

    There are also things that advisors really like about our approach:

    We pay a base + recurring bips (fees) in perpetuity.

    We provide a lot of back-office support.

    We do not require a suit to be worn to work.

    We sleep well at night knowing we did the best we could for our Clients.

    Training:

    First, if you are not licensed, we will pay you for up to 6 weeks while you obtain the necessary licenses (Series 65 and life insurance producer).

    Once licensed (or for those already licensed), training comes in two parts:

    Centralized training on internal processes, planning, and culture expectations

    Understudying one or more established advisors

    The length of time spent as an understudy to an established advisor can be as short as a couple of months or as long as 6 months. It comes down to the individual and how quickly they are picking up the position.
