    Position Summary

    The Planning Associate will support SPIN Global's projects by contributing professional planning services, research, and technical analysis. This role requires strong knowledge of emergency management planning processes, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and the skills to transform complex information into clear and actionable plans, exercises, and deliverables.

    Location

    Washington D.C. preferred

    Remote, with potential for travel as required.

    Relocation to the project site may be required.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide professional services and project implementation support to SPIN Global clients, ensuring obligations of contracts and task orders are fulfilled.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand needs, support deliverable execution, and maintain client satisfaction through consistent communication and problem-solving.
    • Serve as a contributor to our emergency management planning teams responsible for developing all-hazards and incident-specific plans at national, regional, state and local levels.
    • Conduct research and analysis to support the development of technical deliverables.
    • Assist with plan refinement, exercise development and implementation, and plan socialization.
    • Support the preparation of briefings, reports, and policy-related documents in alignment with project objectives.

    Required Qualifications

    • ****Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field.
    • 4+ years of professional experience in emergency management planning.
    • Demonstrated understanding of emergency management planning processes, including exercise programs and principles.
    • Successful completion of Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses.
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.Documented understanding of the planning process, emergency management exercise programs and principles.
    • Successful completion of Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree in a related field of study.
    • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) designation.
    • County-level or higher emergency management experience.
    • Experience supporting large-scale multistakeholder planning efforts.ter's degree in a related field of study.
    • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Associate Emergency Manager (AEM).
    • County-level or higher emergency management experience preferred.
