Innovative Resource Recovery is looking for a Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team at our state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Hampden, Maine. This is an opportunity to work with advanced recycling technology while helping create a cleaner, more sustainable future.

What You'll Do
As a Plant Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing the equipment that keeps our recycling facility running.
Responsibilities include:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
Maintain conveyors, balers, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, fans, compressors, optical sorters, magnets, and other processing equipment
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
Perform equipment inspections and complete maintenance documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment reliability
Work safely while following OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company safety policies
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience
Experience working with mechanical equipment in manufacturing, recycling, waste processing, or similar industrial environments
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial environment
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) or recycling operation
Knowledge of conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, bearings, and rotating equipment
Basic electrical troubleshooting experience
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

This position works in an industrial recycling facility and includes exposure to moving equipment, dust, noise, varying temperatures, and outdoor conditions. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or maintenance shutdowns as needed is required.
