    POSITION SUMMARY:

    As a Plant Manager you will be responsible for providing leadership, directing and managing plant operations and supporting departments to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction. You will provide outstanding customer service, support and coaching to all associates, including supervisors and leaders to help meet all company goals and initiatives. You will be responsible for managing the financial performance of the plant.

    JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Responsible for the development, performance feedback, direction and leadership of all associates in the plant including mentoring, coaching, counseling and delivering corrective action when situations dictate.
    • Drive the utilization of problem-solving methods for related plant and customer problems / issues.
    • Directs, drives, establishes and implements new programs and plant productivity improvements to achieve plant goals and customer cost reduction goals through the operating system.
    • Responsible for plant manning levels and assures compliance and improvements to the budget.
    • Provide input into quoting and business development activities (ex. pricing, program management, plant capacity, etc.).
    • Responsible for leading the plant safety committee.
    • Responsible for ensuring the entire team has the necessary tools and materials to properly perform their roles safely and efficiently.
    • Responsible for customer and supplier interface.
    • Represent the company during customer visits / surveys and during meetings / presentations at customer locations.
    • Develop and drive the plant's strategic business plan along with identifying key measurable to support the plant business goals.
    • Responsible for the financial performance of the plant. Complete P&L responsibility for the plant.
    • Develop, drive and support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and Quality registrations (ex. IATF 16949/ISO14001).
    • Responsible for assuring that all internal and MIOSHA/OSHA required procedures are being followed in the performance of daily activities.
    • Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized, and to verify individual usage of personal protective equipment by the entire work team.
    • Responsible for maintaining a positive business relationship with the UAW and membership that is represented at the Plant.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business related field (manufacturing, engineering or quality), with a master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum five to seven years of experience as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager or Department Manager in a unionized manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in a Stamping/Weld Assembly environment preferred, or a combination of degree and experience.
    • Possess knowledge of plant department functions and corresponding roles and interactions to facilitate overall plant synergy.
    • Prior experience leading the launch of new model products.
    • Prior experience with Hot Stamping.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Previous experience managing in a Union environment.
    • The successful candidate will have a strong understanding and demonstrated experience performing the listed Job Tasks and Responsibilities.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Strong problem resolution skills, along with customer service and team orientation skills.
    • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
    • Ability to read and write in English and to perform mathematical calculations.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    · Duties include but are not limited to stand, walk, twist, bend, lift, see, talk and hear, with an ability to travel. When visiting plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration or hazardous materials.

    • Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.
    • Typically, the adjustments performed at this level are routine and the need for such adjustments are readily apparent.
