Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee the daily functions of a plastics manufacturing facility specializing in film production. The role involves managing all aspects of plant activities to achieve production efficiency, product quality, and timely order fulfillment while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
Primary Duties:
Oversee day-to-day operations in a plastic film production environment, ensuring output aligns with customer expectations and internal performance goals.
Supervise multiple extrusion lines to guarantee safe practices, operational efficiency, and adherence to production quality benchmarks.
Cultivate a workplace culture that emphasizes responsibility, safety awareness, and a mindset for ongoing process improvement.
Work closely with the maintenance department to address technical issues quickly and minimize operational interruptions.
Track production KPIs and lead initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce defects, and streamline material usage.
Handle workforce planning including recruitment, shift planning, and skills training to keep teams motivated and production-ready.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including commercial and procurement, on new product initiatives and customer-specific needs.
Partner with quality assurance to ensure all goods meet established internal and external standards.
Guarantee on-time finalization and delivery of goods to meet client deadlines.
Address workplace conflicts and coordinate task prioritization and shift coverage as needed.
Spearhead efficiency projects and identify areas for cost containment across the operation.
Maintain financial oversight through budget management and reporting.
Ensure that all company practices align with safety, environmental, and policy requirements.
Must be open to flexible working hours, including rotating shifts if necessary.
Preferred Background:
3–5 years of experience in a leadership role within the plastic film or extrusion manufacturing sector.
Hands-on knowledge of extrusion systems, polymer film processing, and related quality assurance practices.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, planning, and communication.
Capable of diagnosing technical equipment issues and leading problem-solving efforts.
Strong ability to communicate across departments and maintain organized workflow processes.
Thorough understanding of occupational safety standards and a strong commitment to fostering a safe workplace.
Proven team leadership and interpersonal effectiveness, both within the plant and across business functions.
