    • Our client is a well-established manufacturer of industrial building materials seeking a Plant Manager to oversee all aspects of plant operations, production, maintenance, distribution, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence while ensuring a safe, productive, and cost-effective manufacturing environment. This position is based on-site in Iberia, OH, serving a manufacturing facility located in north-central Ohio.
    • The Plant Manager will lead plant personnel, oversee capital improvement initiatives, manage production and maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations. This position requires a strong technical background, including electrical, engineering, industrial maintenance, or related technical training, along with extensive manufacturing leadership experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide overall leadership for plant operations, including safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, preventive maintenance, production scheduling, inventory management, and distribution activities.
    • Develop and maintain a culture focused on employee safety, operational excellence, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Lead and develop supervisors, administrative staff, maintenance personnel, and production teams to achieve operational and business objectives.
    • Conduct regular meetings with supervisory staff to review plant performance, production goals, maintenance priorities, safety initiatives, and operational challenges.
    • Manage plant budgets, operating costs, capital resources, and capital improvement projects to support long-term business objectives.
    • Review operational performance metrics and financial results, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and profitability.
    • Coordinate production schedules and inventory management activities to meet customer demand while optimizing plant performance.
    • Work closely with maintenance personnel and outside contractors to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
    • Oversee raw material management, production processes, quality control programs, finished goods inventory, storage operations, and shipping activities.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DER, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain knowledge of applicable government regulations, industry best practices, manufacturing technologies, and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Prepare reports and communicate operational performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
    • Support positive employee relations and participate in labor relations activities when applicable in union manufacturing environments.
    • Lead continuous improvement efforts related to production efficiency, maintenance effectiveness, quality performance, energy usage, and operating costs.

    Qualifications:

    • College degree, technical degree, or a high school diploma with 10+ years of experience supervising all phases of manufacturing operations, including production and maintenance.
    • Technical education, training, certification, or hands-on experience in electrical systems, electrical engineering technology, industrial maintenance technology, electrical maintenance, journeyman electrician work, engineering technology, mechanical systems, or a closely related technical discipline.
    • 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience overseeing production, maintenance, operations, or plant management functions.
    • Experience managing plant operations in a heavy industrial, mining, quarrying, building materials, aggregates, cement, concrete, ceramics, brick, kiln, or similar manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to recommend, justify, and manage capital improvement projects.
    • Experience managing budgets, production costs, and operational performance metrics.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to work effectively with maintenance teams, production personnel, contractors, and leadership teams to achieve operational objectives.
    • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressed air systems, vacuum systems, pumping systems, and industrial equipment.
    • Experience with quality assurance programs, industrial instrumentation, fuel consumption control, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance programs.
    • Training and/or experience with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and DER compliance requirements.

    • Base salary to 160k/year
