    Job Description

    Under the guidance of the Plant General Manager, the Plant Processing Manager will supervise and coordinate the activities of workers in hourly production jobs engaged in the treatment and disposal of waste at the plant. They will ensure all production goals and permit obligations are met in compliance with RCRA regulations.

    Inbound

    • Perform periodic audits and review of inbound containers and provides feedback to appropriate management group.
    • Oversee inbound 10-day management processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee waste receiving processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee lab operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee waste acceptance processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.

    Waste Processing

    • Process waste, ensuring efficient and compliant operations.
    • Maintains efficient paperwork flow to maximize production and profitability.
    • Oversee waste processing and treatment processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.

    Outbound

    • Oversee outbound shipping processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.

    Plant Management

    • Develop and implement cost management plans, ensuring efficient and compliant operations. Generates Weekly and Monthly Production summaries for review by Plant leadership.
    • Oversee facilities management processes and budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement and monitor KPI goals for operations.
    • Responsible for generating and submitting Capital Expense requests.
    • Maintain facilities and manage facility budgets to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards and company goals.
    • Manage supply inventory, ensuring availability and compliance with operational needs.
    • Direct, coach, and develop employees, ensuring they meet operational needs and compliance with company policies.
    • Assigns required and recommend trainings to develop an effective and efficient staff.
    • Manage assets, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
    • Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, either internally or externally
    • Implement safety protocols and compliance measures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.

    Performs other related duties and/or project work as required or requested.

    Work Environment

    • Required to wear company-provided personal protective equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
    • Willingness and ability to travel via automobile, commercial airline and other public transportation as needed 10% or less of the time.
    • Must be able to pass a DEA background check when relevant.

    Qualifications

    Education : (BA or BS degree required or preferred)

    • High School Diploma required, B.S. in an environmental-related field preferred, or can demonstrate related equivalent work experience.
    • 40-hour HAZWOPER training completed and current, or ability to obtain.

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years of progressive environmental/hazardous waste management experience working in an operations capacity in receiving waste or materials management.
    • Experience in the hazardous waste industry and general knowledge of RCRA and Department of Transportation (DoT) regulations as it relates to the transportation and processing of waste is preferred.
    • Understanding of waste profiling and tracking related to acceptance into inventory and outbound shipping of waste.

    Facilities Management

    • Able to Implement and communicate continual improvement of productivity standards and team member safety in all phases of the operation in accordance with financial goals.

    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to waste management preferred.
    • Understanding of safety, lockout/tagout, and compliance protocols preferred.

    • Understanding of financial principles and practices.

    Customer Service & Commercial

    • Basic verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience in vendor management and relations required.

    Training & Facilitation

    • Experienced in presentation skills and techniques.
    • Knowledge of facilitation skills and techniques.

    Administrative Skills

    • Experience in administrative tasks and office management.

    Leadership

    • Ability to lead and work through others, demonstrates effective delegation skills.
    • Aware of change management methodologies and practices.
    • Experience in team building and collaboration.
    • Some experience with employee engagement strategies and practices.
    • Experience in interviewing and selecting candidates.
    • Project planning and coordination experience.

    Systems

    • Basic proficiency in basic computer skills and software applications preferred.

    Understanding of CORE system used in operations preferred
