Job Summary:
The Content Writer will write, review and edit any content that is distributed across Plant Therapy. This includes everything from the blog and social media to marketing content and product labels. A person in this position will also help create engaging and fresh content for the blog as well as help clean up and refresh past blog posts. This position requires incredible attention to detail, friendly and conversational writing tone, Wordpress experience, exceptional grammar and editing skills, and of course, creativity. Knowledge of essential oils or natural living is a plus.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Contribute to the upcoming content plan by presenting fresh content ideas that are relevant to the industry.
Research, write and edit blog posts as assigned by the Content Manager.
Optimize each post for SEO and readability.
Refresh old content by checking for grammar, structure, and SEO, as well as updating links and pictures as needed.
Write in Plant Therapy's conversational yet educational tone.
Verify that any instructions and recommendations in the blog are up to date with Plant Therapy's current essential oil usage and safety guidelines.
Work harmoniously with other departments.
Check product labels, marketing materials, promotional messaging, blog posts, retail signage and any other printed or digital material for grammar and consistency.
Able to easily switch between projects while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
1+ year experience as a content writer
Proficient in Wordpress
Knowledge of SEO best practices
Knowledge of essential oils is desirable, but not required
