    Registered Nurse (Part-Time)

    Location: Near Downtown Los Angeles, CA

    Schedule: Saturday availability is required. Nurses must be available to work a minimum of three (3) days per week, including every Saturday. The remaining two (2) scheduled workdays will be based on employee availability and the operational needs of the surgery center. Additional weekday shifts and on-call opportunities may be available.

    Position Overview

    We are a high-volume plastic surgery center seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our perioperative team. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care across the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases while working collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, RNFAs, surgical technologists, and fellow nursing staff.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse interested in both surgical care and potential future growth into aesthetic medicine, including injectables and laser-based treatments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provides comprehensive perioperative and recovery care for patients undergoing cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

    Prepares the operating room and equipment for procedures including rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, liposuction, abdominoplasty, and fat transfer (BBL).

    Functions as a circulating nurse, maintaining a sterile environment, coordinating with the surgical team, and advocating for patient safety.

    Performs IV insertion with a high level of proficiency, ensuring reliable access for sedation and fluid management.

    Demonstrates competency in urinary catheter insertion and perioperative patient preparation.

    Monitors patients during the recovery phase, including assessment of vital signs, airway status, pain control, and discharge readiness.

    Educates patients pre- and post-operatively regarding procedure expectations, recovery timelines, medications, and home care instructions.

    Collaborates effectively with multidisciplinary team members to ensure efficient surgical workflow in a fast-paced environment.

    Maintains accurate clinical documentation and adheres to all regulatory, safety, infection prevention, and accreditation standards.

    Qualifications

    Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license.

    Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required).

    Strong IV placement skills required.

    Experience with urinary catheter insertion required.

    Previous operating room, PACU, surgery center, or perioperative experience strongly preferred.

    Must be fluent in both English and Spanish (bilingual required).

    Ability to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking patients regarding pre-operative instructions, post-operative care, medications, recovery expectations, and patient education.

    Scheduling Requirements

    Saturday availability is a condition of employment.

    Employees must work a minimum of three (3) days per week.

    Saturday counts as one of the required three weekly workdays.

    The remaining two workdays will be scheduled based on employee availability and surgery center staffing needs.

    Additional shifts and on-call opportunities may be offered based on case volume and operational demands.

    Employment Status

    This position is an at-will employment position in accordance with California law. Employment may be terminated by either the employee or Southern California Surgery Center at any time, with or without cause and with or without advance notice, subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws.
