DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the daily operation of support services for HR, and general administration. Promotes a positive employee environment as the HR Liaison for corporate HR Department. This includes overseeing the numerous office functions, but not limited to, clerical/administrative needs, data maintenance, report filing, and company events/employee relations. Responsible for the initial training for new hires, and yearly administrative training such as Harassment training. Establishes work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness of assigned operations. Responsible for ensuring compliance with established corporate standards. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks, including back up to the Administrative Specialist for payroll, AR, and AP. A wide degree of creativity and continuous improvement of assigned systems is expected. The HR Specialist will report directly to the General Manager.
Job Roles required of the position:
· HR: Provides HR liaison activities including maintenance of site employee records and promotes/organizes various employee morale events such as the holiday parties/luncheons, perfect attendance awards, and recognition programs. Onboards new employees, ensuring orientation training, drug screening, and physicals are performed, as required.
· TRAINING: Provides new hire training, and yearly administrative training such as Harassment training.
· PURCHASING: Provides back-up support for AP.
· ACCOUNTING: Provides back-up support for AR.
· RECEPTIONIST: Provides back up for phones, directing calls, greeting visitors and making arrangements for hospitality, as directed.
· CIMP SYSTEM: Promotes continuous improvement and participates in Kaisen events and projects.
· OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Minimum Requirements: Associate or related degree is desired, with 5+ years of experience in HR, and administrative systems, Microsoft software applications such as Excel and Word, and ERP software. Certification or Degree in HR is highly preferred.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Coordination, Communication, Process Improvement, Troubleshooting, Quality Management Systems experience and proficient in Microsoft Office Suites. Successfully work within a team environment. Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Required reading, writing and speaking fluently in English and preparing reports.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, lift objects, and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, and kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The employee is exposed to laboratory chemical reagents and microbial cultures. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate; some activities require personal protective equipment, which is provided.
