Job Description

Platform Accounting Group is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to build a BI process from the ground up. The BI Analyst will help Platform capture the latent value in its data to improve client experience, reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and empower local accounting offices to run their business more effectively. Platform Accounting Group is redefining how tax accounting operates and is growing at an incredibly fast pace. This role will work directly with the COO to build out a critical new function and drive improvement across the entire firm.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Shape and execute a technical vision for data warehousing and dashboard development (willing to bring in outside consulting expertise, if needed). Success in this role will require technical breadth and strong communication and judgement skills. You will need to understand both the business side, and data engineering side of BI so that you can effectively build this for the organization.

• Standardize metrics and reporting across the organization
• Engage with stakeholders to build and prioritize a roadmap of report development
• Build out reports and dashboards in data visualization tool (likely Power BI)
• Identify process inconsistencies that drive gaps in data and work with teams to refine
• Help teams identify their key metrics and how to affect them based on their data

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related business/analytical disciplines
• 2+ years of industry experience in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Data Engineering, Software Development, or related field with a track record of producing actionable business insights
• Hands-on experience with SQL and data visualization tools (preferably Power BI)
• Excellent communication skills to summarize insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication
• Ability to navigate ambiguity to develop and champion new ideas and creative solutions
• Ability to work with a diverse team across wide geography and help drive change management
• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4+ years of experience managing Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Scientists, and/or Business Analysts
• Experience building out or managing data warehouses using cloud-based storage such as AWS
• Demonstrated ability to write complex, optimized SQL queries across large data sets
