Job Description

We are looking for an ACCOUNTING MANAGER to join our Finance & Accounting team.  This is a unique opportunity as it will be the first internal accounting hire as we build out our internal accounting function.  You'll act as both IC and manager initially -- overseeing the accounting function, including billing, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, partner and financial reporting. You'll also handle working with external parties to prepare the company's tax returns, its interactions with regulatory agencies, and other functions.

You will help select and implement the company's ERP system, create and establish controls and policies, build the accounting team and provide audit support.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves, but aspire to lead a team as we build out the accounting function for a growing organization.

 WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
• Lead the transition of the accounting function from offshore support model
• Cash flow and balance sheet forecasting and reporting
• Help select and implement the company's ERP system
• Responsible for the federal, state, local, and international tax compliance
• Manage insurance, compliance, sales tax and external reporting
• Support external auditors to complete annual audit
• Ensure that internal controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance that company assets are protected
• Monitor, evaluate impact and implement new accounting standards
• Anticipate and evaluate business needs to make sure that financial organization and systems appropriately support company growth
• Bring ideas and identify opportunities to improve our accounting function; leveraging and enhancing tools and data connection

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• 5-7 years of overall accounting experience, with at least 2 in a supervisor role; SaaS experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting
• Experience managing and owning the close process
• Ability to multi-task and manage simultaneous priorities
• Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and high level of ownership
• Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work in a hands-on management capacity
• Willingness to get hands dirty initially, but desire to build and manage a team longer term.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

• CPA strongly preferred
• Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
• Hardware/inventory management preferred
• ERP/Systems implementation is a plus
• Experience with data connections is a plus
