    Job Description

    THE JOB The Data Architect will be a critical member of a project team responsible for executing our Data Strategy and implement business critical architecture. Specifically, the Data Architect will be responsible for architecting, developing and managing all data integrations, reporting and analytics platform for the company’s data.

    The ideal candidate has strong experience and knowledge of data warehousing and business analysis skills. They should be detail oriented and effective in working in a fast-paced environment while meeting short-term deadlines.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for the overall data architecture across the enterprise with focus on reporting, data visualization and analytics. Maintain a good understanding of the business drivers of the project. Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of all integrations, interactions, and relationships between systems to develop a wholistic view of all enterprise data needs and requirements. Facilitate workshops to define requirements and develop solution designs. Designing and documenting data architecture at multiple levels (high-level to detailed) and across multiple views (conceptual, logical and physical). Provide solutions, recommendations, documentation and training to all stakeholders for the continuous improvement of building a data-driven business. Provide active “hands-on” architectural guidance and technical leadership across the SDLC. Develop standards and strategies across the entire data lifecycle - capture, transformation and maintenance, usage, publication, archiving and purging. Ensure technical functionality across the data landscape, i.e., scalability, performance, reliability, recovery, security, etc. Maintain a repository of all data architecture artifacts and procedures. Design, coordinate and execute POC to provide validation on solution scenarios. Assist in addressing end user questions or resolving issues in the post-deployment Production environment. Required Experience, Skills and Experience

    10+ years’ hands-on experience in technology environments across the SDLC with a deep understanding of current software engineering best practices, architectural frameworks, and deployment patterns. 5+ years’ experience in either an application, database or data architectural role. 5+ years’ experience in analyzing end-user operations, evaluating current systems and reviewing target state objectives with stakeholders. 5+ years’ experience in defining, developing and delivering solution architectures to meet business and/or technical requirements. 5+ years’ experience in creating technical documentation. 5+ years’ hands-on experience in relational database systems, particularly SQL Server. 5+ years’ extensive experience in data warehouse projects, ETL tools, data visualization and/or Business Intelligence (BI) platforms across the entire SDLC. In-depth knowledge and experience with data architecture patterns and implementation approaches for Operational Data Stores, Data Marts and Data Warehouses. Experience in developing and/or supporting accounting, finance or investment management systems. Experience in Tableau, MicroStrategy, Talend, Informatica or Markit EDM/EDMW desirable. Experience in one or more cloud environments (AWS, Azure) desirable. Experience in one or more data governance platforms (Azure Data Catalog, Data3Sixty) desirable. Experience in heterogeneous distributed database systems desirable.
