    Job Description

    IT PROGRAM MANAGER NEEDED FOR A CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY WITH OUR CLIENT IN IRVINE, CA. POSITION IS CURRENTLY WORKING REMOTE. JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Oversee multiple technology initiatives that will replace multiple legacy systems and various sub-systems, improve core business processes and user experiences, and provide a foundation for future business growth at an efficient total cost of ownership.
    • Leverage strategic project and program management methodologies and processes to ensure the successful execution of highly complex programs that consist of multiple projects while providing service excellence in meeting the needs of our internal customers and promoting best practices to support current and future business goals and objectives.
    • Oversee program management over implementations as well as transformation initiatives that will drive alignment of processes and policies, and optimize the use of technology tools, while balancing financial stewardship and organizational capacity for change.
    • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to program staff clearly assigning responsibility for tasks and decisions, setting clear objectives, ensuring the effective use of tools and methodologies, measuring and monitoring progress and results, and fostering a positive team-oriented environment.
    • Oversee and provide metrics to measure the implementation go live effectiveness, project health, and be the escalation point on project issues.
    • Effectively provide updates and deliver presentations to the senior leadership team and cross-functional committees, influencing stakeholders to drive to desired outcome, and making the right judgment call with the big picture in mind.
    • Develop integrated plans that include project deliverables, strategic alignment, total cost management, enterprise-wise impacts, milestones, risks, assumptions, constraints, change management and overall project investment.
    • Proactively identifies, manages, and communicates issues and risks, diplomatically escalating as appropriate through areas affected.
    • Work with complex issues where analysis of situations and data requires an in-depth evaluation of variables and the exercise of good judgment in selecting methods and techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
    • Demonstrate ability to understand and articulate business requirements, direction, and initiatives from an enterprise level.
    • Demonstrate consulting skills by anticipating needs, collaborating with internal and / or external stakeholders, socializing the business case with senior leadership, providing clarity in presentations, and maintaining professional presence when proposed solutions are challenged.
    • Review and manage the project team members to deliver functional specifications for applications enhancements, conducting system impact analyses, creating and implementing test plans, and evaluating ROI / risk / compliance to make decisions on production system changes.
    • Propose business process improvements, identify impacts, as well as partner with functional groups to prepare for change management activities.
    • Support successful adoption of new systems and processes through implementation of communication, training and change management plans that align with the people adoption strategy.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by partnering with IS and other key customers to evaluate technology functionality and processes to enhance cost-benefit, efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Develop program strategy, business cases, high-level project plans, and milestones to manage program activities. This includes accountability for the success of the program through ensuring the sub-projects complete on time, within scope, within budget, meets business requirements, and to business satisfaction.
    • Responsible for meeting key performance objectives, managing issues to resolution, risk management, managing program scope changes effectively, and ensuring that the work completed adheres to all company and department standards and processes.
    • Understand the program “big picture” and impact of different areas on whole program by taking a strategic approach to program planning, financial management, system planning, process engineering, balancing short and long term requirements, and resource allocation.
    • May need to manage the impacts of a program and be required to balance competing projects to ensure program execution.
    • In conjunction with the functional leaders, develop a staffing plan that would support the processes and systems post implementation.
    • Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
    • Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Business Management or related discipline.
    • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related discipline preferred.
    • 8 years’ experience in the area of system implementations, process management, improvement and design.
    • 8 years’ experience leading large, diverse and complex projects is required. Expertise and experience with Project Management methodology based on project management principles.
    • 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory or Management capacity with demonstrated ability to lead people and get work done through others within a matrix organization.
