OPERATIONS MANAGER NEEDED FOR A CONTRACT TO HIRE OPPORTUNITY WITH OUR CLIENT IN ONTARIO / FONTANA, CA.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Together with the leadership team, the Operations Manager will work within our client's systems to provide excellent customer service and a sustainable competitive advantage. The successful candidate will also have responsibility for profitable sales and market share growth.
- Ensure that safety is a top priority with all co-workers.
- Provide leadership on local integration and implementation of SAP platform.
- Review overall processes for completeness, accuracy and compliance with existing company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operations, increase turnaround times, and streamline work procedures working cooperatively and jointly with all departments and co-workers to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Advise Sales Reps / Project Managers on technical aspects of products.
- Collect information from Sales Reps and others about customers' needs, interacts to advise on products that add value.
- Provide expertise in solving customer problems with any internal department, including other divisions.
- Visit customers to conduct workflow, process, and packaging audits.
- Handle customer problems that arise from the use of the product & defective parts.
- Recommend corrective actions to address customer complaints.
- Develop supply chain in conjunction with corporate procurement initiatives.
- Negotiate purchase agreements with vendors.
- Ensure that buying and quoting guarantees the best possible pricing with the required delivery dates.
- Manage inventory related to stocking levels, turns, and aged inventory.
- Coordinate all local vendor rebate programs, debits and returns, with oversight of the process through the system.
- Drive value and margin throughout the business utilizing our Business Improvement Tool (BIT) and Account Margin & Profitability (AMP) reports.
- Manage co-worker appraisal process for Customer Service & Procurement departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or equivalent field, or equivalent experience.
- Aspirations to become Regional Operations Manager or Division Manager.
- Background / experience in Distribution business.
- 5-10 years of distribution / packaging and inventory management experience with at least 3-5 years in a leadership capacity.
- ERP / SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Outlook required.
- Advanced skills in Excel a plus.
- Ability to interface with customers and vendors.
- Ability to visit and solve customer problems.
- Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
- Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.
- Must function well in a team environment and be able to function productively within an ambiguous work environment.
- Must have an entrepreneurial spirit!
- Travel Requirement: Less than 10% of Travel Required.
