IT SECURITY ENGINEER NEEDED FOR A CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY WITH OUR CLIENT IN NEWPORT BEACH, CA. JOB DESCRIPTION

• Help maintain and ensure operation of security systems.
• Collaborate with others to help prioritize and implement security patches or mitigations.
• Assist with technical validation of security controls.
• Assist with implementation and execution of security-related IT processes.
• Report on status of tasks and projects.
• Work closely with the data center infrastructure security lead on other tasks and projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Microsoft SCCM experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. 
• At least two years of experience working in an IT or Information Security related field.
• Able to self-serve, stay busy and organized, and who could help with execution of the time-consuming tasks / ad-hoc tasks and can work independently.
• Understanding of security concepts who can focus on helping with specific security tasks and projects.
• Ability to prioritize and keep track of tasks.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills.
• An understanding of basic information security concepts.
• Familiarity with vulnerabilities, risks, and threats.
• Understanding of Commonly used Information security tools and their use cases.
• Preferred qualifications / experience includes a life insurance background.
