    BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE LEAD

    Want to work for the world’s leader in play design and equipment manufacturing? PlayPower is adding a new role to our corporate finance team. This role will be based out of one of our PlayPower offices, and may be located in Dallas, TX, Monett, MO, Huntersville, NC or Lewisburg, PA.

     

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position will be the ambassador of Microsoft Power BI for the organization and match business needs with BI solutions through project management. The right person will be able to lead teams through the implementation of areas like sales, financial and supply chain, and the sustaining life cycle growth and management of Business Intelligence.

    DUTIES INCLUDE:

    PLANNING

    • Identify opportunities and develop solutions using PBI

    • Maintain roadmap of business applications for future workstreams

    • Set the direction and identify key inputs for future development

    • Partner with Kenfront to layout each new Phase of work, including timeline, milestones and budget

     

    STEERING COMMITTEE COORDINATION

    • Manage weekly PBI steering committee meetings. Maintain meeting invite. Ensure the right members are included, attend, and are contributing

    • Be a liaison between the project steering committee and the Project Management Office steering committee to ensure resources are approved and prioritized to support PBI workstreams

     

    PROJECT MANAGEMENT

    • Be a change agent, drive adoption of BI and retiring of old reports and process replaced by PBI.

    • Coordinate teams to deliver roadmap

    • Leading all active implementation workstreams

    • Ensure the scope of each workstream is clear, and design and development is complete and inclusive of all business units

    • Attend workstream working sessions as needed to ensure the right inputs, and that data and visual validation is complete by the proper source

    • Steward change management through improvement funnel, training and IT email blasts

    • Manage and hold accountable our implementation partner, Kenfront

    • Manage and hold accountable internal PlayPower team members

    • Measure and report on “productivity” gains driven by PBI implementation (i.e. 8 daily order emails, avg 2 hours manual prep time, now self-serve through PBI, 0 prep time)

     

    MAINTENANCE AND SYSTEM INTEGRITY

    • Form and maintain a community of Super Users across every function in the business (sales, customer service, finance, etc.). Ensure they are trained and using BI to bring value to the functional teams. Engage Kenfront for training support as needed.

    • Foster adoption of PBI solutions throughout and leverage peer FP&A financial analysts to identify opportunities to put into future development funnel.

    • Develop and implement business processes and controls to sustain BI capabilities

    • Stay up to speed on Microsoft enhancements to PBI and ensure new opportunities are put into future development funnel.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERABLE CHARACTERISTICS:

    • High School Diploma or GED (required)

    • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (preferred)

    • Experience implementing and using Microsoft Power BI (preferred)

    • Minimum 5 years of relevant Finance or other functional management experience (i.e. sales, operations, etc.) (required) 

    • PlayPower business process experience (preferred)

    • Minimum 1 year of relevant Power BI experience (required)

    • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports, statements, and projections; knowledge budgeting and business planning cycles

    • Strong organizational skills; well organized and self-directed with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Must have a strong sense of personal accountability, taking ownership of initiatives, delivering top quality results, and the ability to independently complete multiple time-sensitive tasks.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to interface effectively at all levels both internally and externally.

    • Possess a thorough understanding of financial statements and relationships between income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements

    • Cross-functional teamwork experience

    • Strong PC skills and proficiency with various applications; MS Power BI, MS O365, advanced Excel skills, Syteline 8 & 10
