  • Responsibilities
    • Calculate volumes of stockpiled limestone moved by draglines and dozers from drone and/or other conventional survey methods.
    • Customer interaction for surveying and exchanging data.
    • Communicate with dragline operators for surveys and reports.
    • Calculate, compile and complete end of month reports including dragline availabilities.
    • Maintain and calibrate survey equipment.
    • Assist with bathymetric surveys to verify lake depths at all customer locations
    • Order and maintain supplies required for surveying duties.
    • Update software and hardware for GPS, drone and bathymetric equipment..
    • Assist in public tours for the draglines and quarries.
    • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the Planning Engineer.
    • Continually search for new innovations that will increase efficiency and reduce cost at the mine.
    • Assist with applicable computer IT issues.
     
    

    Required Skills

     

    • Competent knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations.

    • Must obtain FAA Part 107 Certification (drone pilot’s license) within the first 60 days of starting on this position.

    • Be proficient in basic Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel).

    • Previous knowledge of electronic survey equipment and GPS survey equipment, including drones and bathymetric systems.

    • Previous working knowledge of survey practices in an operating limestone quarry.

    • Good verbal and written communications skills. Bilingual preferred.

    • Ability to make presentations both in house and to customers.

    • Good interpersonal skills

    • Previous working knowledge of computers equipped with engineering, mining, and surveying software.

    • Operates company vehicle to travel throughout the mine site. Must maintain a valid driving record (MVR) and in good standings.

    Required Experience

     MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:          

    • Engineering/Surveying/Electronics Technology degree and/or surveying experience.
    • Working knowledge of computers equipped with engineering, mining and surveying software.
    • Must be fluent in English. Bilingual a plus.
    • Good interpersonal skills
