Job Summary: We are currently seeking a Plotter-Laser Machine Operator to produce stencils for the flat marker production line as well as stencils for upright markers, second inscriptions and on-site inscriptions. Using a desktop computer, the Plotter-Laser Machine Operator will be required to import digital files that will be cut onto a physical canvas using an automated cutting table. That canvas is then used to engrave artistic memories to families in times of loss.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Call up orders produced by the Art Department using Gerber Omega Design software.
Check orders for accuracy as far as spelling, dates and other information from “signed” drawings.
Make any “minor” changes requested by the customer on the “signed” drawing.
Check artwork for functionality in the production process (outlining letters to “fatten” them up, check centering and spacing).
Matching layouts for second inscriptions. (Matching font, letter heights, line spacing and kerning)
Cut stencils using two flatbed plotters, adjusting plotter settings to reflect types of stencil being used.
Accurately labelling stencils for the Production Line. (Calling out polish areas and any other important info)
Set up jobs for laser engraving and coordinate production of laser etched products.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High attention to detail
Artistic skills and education
Working knowledge of design software
Experience operating a laser machine, plotter, or CNC machine
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
This position will be exposed to information about people who have passed on and in some cases people who passed on very young. This position will also be exposed to photographs of people of all ages, who have passed that become part of a beautiful tribute in stone. It is very important that applicants are comfortable with the monument industry.
