    PLUMBING SERVICE TECHNICIAN – RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL

    American Mechanical Services, LLC is hiring an experienced Plumbing Service Technician to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who can handle both residential and commercial plumbing work, troubleshoot properly, communicate clearly, and take pride in doing clean, professional work.

    AMS performs residential, commercial, and light industrial plumbing service, repair, maintenance, and installation throughout the Charleston/Lowcountry area. We are building a company around quality, accountability, and technical ability. We need a plumber who can think, diagnose, and complete work correctly — not someone who cuts corners.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Plumbing Service Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential and commercial plumbing systems. This includes water piping, drain/waste/vent piping, water heaters, fixtures, pumps, valves, backflow-related components, leaks, stoppages, remodel work, and commercial plumbing repairs.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Diagnose and repair residential and commercial plumbing systems Perform plumbing service calls, repairs, maintenance, and inspections Repair leaks, fixtures, valves, drains, water heaters, and related plumbing equipment Install and replace plumbing fixtures, piping, water heaters, and equipment Perform drain and waste piping repairs where applicable Assist with commercial plumbing projects and tenant buildouts when needed Complete accurate service notes, photos, material lists, and job documentation Communicate findings clearly with customers, dispatch, and management Maintain truck stock, tools, materials, and company equipment Follow company safety policies, plumbing code, and trade best practices Participate in on-call rotation when scheduled Represent AMS professionally on every jobsite

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Residential and commercial plumbing experience required Strong troubleshooting ability required Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions Ability to read basic plans, fixture schedules, and plumbing layouts preferred Experience with water heaters, fixture repairs, leak repairs, DWV, water piping, and commercial plumbing preferred Backflow, gas piping, drain cleaning, or commercial rough-in experience is a plus Must be reliable, organized, and willing to document work properly Must be able to pass applicable background/drug screening if required by customer or project
