    Employment Status: Full-Time

    FLSA: Non-Exempt

    Reports To: Supervisor - Plumbing Services

    The Plumbing Dispatcher organizes service calls so that technicians can be sent to a location in a timely manner.

    Essential Functions

    • Talk with customers to schedule calls to ensure they are available for the technician to come to their home.
    • Effectively dispatch the right technician for the job.
    • Answering incoming service calls and adjusting technician’s schedule as needed.
    • Pays attention to details when logging times technicians are on jobs and using knowledge of plumbing to estimate the time they will need to perform the work the customer has requested.
    • Communicates with technicians throughout the jobs to complete it effectively and efficiently.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities

    • Excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to schedule and prioritize all work assignments.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Geographical knowledge of service area or map reading skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.

    Minimum Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Two years of dispatch experience.
    • Customer service and phone experience required.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Knowledge of Plumbing a plus.

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions

    This position works in a standard office environment. The office environment is controlled and maintained in a safe manner. Must occasionally travel to meet customers or vendors. Is exposed to driving hazards. Adherence to Safety Policy and Driving Safety policy is vital.

    Mental Requirements

    Self-motivated and able to handle rapidly changing priorities and several tasks simultaneously. Must be able to respond to difficult situations with customers and co-workers with high level of professionalism. Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors and co-workers. Must be able to follow safety guidelines at all times. Must have ability to manage and lead effectively.

    Attendance Standards

    Maintaining and satisfying attendance requirements is an essential function of this position including working all full-time regular hours as established for this position and any scheduled emergency overtime. All employees in this job classification are required to satisfy this requirement. This job classification may not include “light duty” work or allow unpredictable or unrestricted absences.
