    Plumbing Trade Manager - Construction - Base Salary to 130k/year - Birmingham, AL

    • Our client is an innovative construction and manufacturing organization focused on modular construction, advanced manufacturing, prefabrication, and integrated project delivery across complex commercial and healthcare projects nationwide.
    • The Plumbing Trade Manager will oversee plumbing and mechanical self-perform operations including estimating, workforce planning, procurement, scheduling, field execution, and trade coordination across large-scale healthcare, commercial, and modular construction projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead plumbing self-perform construction operations from preconstruction through project completion
    • Manage plumbing and mechanical project execution including labor planning, scheduling, forecasting, and field coordination
    • Prepare estimates, quantity takeoffs, conceptual budgets, and procurement plans for plumbing and mechanical scopes
    • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents for plumbing and MEP scope execution
    • Coordinate plumbing installation activities with field teams, subcontractors, engineering, manufacturing, and operations groups
    • Bid, level, and award subcontracted trade scopes including controls, TAB, insulation, caulking, and specialty mechanical trades
    • Manage procurement activities including purchase orders, material tracking, equipment releases, and vendor coordination
    • Perform constructability reviews and support preconstruction planning activities
    • Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, and renovation-related plumbing activities within occupied facilities as required
    • Develop manpower forecasts and workforce plans across multiple active projects
    • Assign and coordinate field crews, project staffing, and labor resources
    • Provide sequencing and scheduling input for integration into master project schedules
    • Manage RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and project reporting throughout construction execution
    • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, company SOPs, installation standards, and local construction codes
    • Monitor project financial performance including labor productivity, forecasting, budgets, and profitability
    • Train and mentor field personnel while developing future field leadership and foremen
    • Support collaboration across operations, manufacturing, engineering, design, and project management teams
    • Travel nationally to support active project operations and field execution

    Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of construction experience with plumbing project oversight
    • Experience managing plumbing and mechanical self-perform construction operations
    • Strong estimating, quantity takeoff, budgeting, and cost management experience for plumbing, mechanical, or MEP scopes
    • Experience managing direct labor and field construction teams
    • Experience coordinating plumbing installation activities on large-scale commercial, healthcare, industrial, mission critical, or modular construction projects
    • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
    • Experience overseeing subcontractors, procurement activities, scheduling, and project financial performance
    • Knowledge of plumbing systems, mechanical systems, construction sequencing, and field installation practices
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Knowledge of local construction codes, safety standards, and industry regulations
    • Ability to travel nationally on an ongoing basis

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 90k – 130k/year range
