    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Plume is looking for a creative, empathetic, collaborative, and culturally competent program designer to assist in designing virtual, peer-facilitated support groups offered at Plume as well as the operations, tools, and training materials to support consistent delivery through scaling. In this capacity you will be collaborating with Plume staff, consultants, and Peer Facilitators to produce a number of assets.

    This will be a part-time (~10 hrs per week) role, lasting 3 months.

    Deliverables include:

    • Refining the scope of each support group topic's objectives
    • Experience and session design of each group, aligned to each topic's objectives
    • Developing and refining best-in-class facilitation tools and agendas to support facilitators
    • Clarification of values and norms for Plume support groups; developing orientation/pre-session materials and communications to cultivate a culture of inclusivity, acceptance, and support among participants
    • Codifying facilitator dos and don'ts
    • Training materials to support facilitators' application of best practices in virtual support group facilitation
    • Design of tools and processes to support shared learnings and iterative program improvement
    • Recommendations to ensure efficient scale of operations and program management

     

    ABOUT YOU

    • A designer of virtual, facilitated group experiences with knowledge of best practices in virtual facilitation tools and techniques
    • A facilitator of support groups, ideally in a virtual environment
    • Design thinker, taking an iterative approach to design -- learning by doing 
    • Experience supporting trans/nonbinary and gender-nonconforming people
    • Experience facilitating workshops and educational content on issues related to equity, anti-discrimination, inclusion, anti-racism, trans issues, consent, and/or social justice
    • Experience with discussing many of the sensitive issues that face the trans/nonbinary community, including: coming out, mental health, gender identity formation & expression, sexuality, relationships, parenting, family issues, isolation and loneliness, substance use, HIV and AIDS, and health and safety concerns. 
    • Experience as a program designer and/or manager, creating tools, processes, and systems to support efficient operations of service delivery
    • Creative, humble, patient, and empathic
    • Excellent communication skills, particularly in small groups and public speaking setting
    • Comfortable working with online collaboration tools such as google suite (Google docs, sheets, mail, forms, etc.)

    COMPENSATION

    • 35 USD per hour (10 hrs per week)
