THE JOB

We are seeking a growth oriented Product Manager for our Corp HQ located in Wilkes Barre, PA.  The Product Manager is responsible for planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle.

This includes gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, identifying new product opportunities, defining the product roadmap, developing product pricing and positioning strategy and product category maintenance. The Product Manager is responsible for working closely with Product Development, Sales, Operations, as well as others in Marketing, to ensure revenue; margin and strategic goals are met. The primary responsibilities include:

1. Defines annual and long-term strategic plans to maintain and grow product category sales and margin with pertinent guidance from senior personnel.
2. Leads marketing research efforts in assigned area for new product development (NPD) projects through the stage gate process with pertinent guidance from senior personnel. Supports NPD project management as needed.
3. Develops financial justification, pricing recommendations, positioning and marketing plans for new opportunities (product and/or programs).
4. Manages all aspects of the product lifecycle, including pricing, forecasting, complexity reduction, margin improvement and end of life.
5. Develops expertise with respect to the competition and the market.
6. Works with Sales and Marketing to train and develop the sales force with respect to product strategy, benefits, features, competition, etc.
7. Assists in planning, monitoring, and/or managing budget in functional area of department.
8. Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BEING TO THE TABLE:

• BS or BA degree, Engineering and/or science based degrees preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a marketing, product management, engineering or other relevant role
• Creativity and vision
• Excellent communication, and problem solving skills
• Superior analytical and planning skills
• Must possess the ability to travel as required

 Additional preference will be given to candidates with experience in the following areas (experience is preferred, but not required):

• New Product Development 
• Customer field research 
• Product positioning and roadmap development
• Industry-specific work experience (i.e., Commercial, Foodservice, Healthcare)
