    Polar Power Inc., founded in 1979, a leading manufacturer of Solar Hybrid power systems, DC generators, and renewable energy systems is seeking dynamic Human Resource Manager to lead and manage our organizations growth. Our product solutions provide reliable low-cost energy for telecommunications, marine and military applications. Our products combine our proprietary DC generator technology with solar technology to provide lower emission solutions to our customers worldwide.     OVERVIEW

    Overall responsibility of recruiting, improving, and implementing organizations policies, programs and practices through planning, evaluating, and training of all employees. Offer leadership regarding organizational and people-related strategy and execution. Implement overall HR strategy for acquiring, growing, and retaining talent to meet business objectives. Help establish baseline measures around recruiting efficiency & effectiveness to drive resource planning and help influence improvements in productivity and employee morale.

    Administers benefits programs such as life, health, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance. Advise leadership team on organizational structure, employee engagement, talent acquisition, risk management and other HR related matters. Provide leadership and expertise in the following areas: career planning, performance management, compensation and rewards, employee relations, learning and development, recognition programs and strategic development.

    Manage leadership development and succession planning. Oversee HR programs and processes in compliance with local, state, federal/country regulations. Implements and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool.

    Develops, recommends, update and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains Employee handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution.

    We hire engineers, administrative, sales, welders, machinists, sheet metal, and assembly workers.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    ·         Maintains the organizational structure by updating the organization chart, job requirements and job descriptions for all positions. Becomes an essential part of the senior management team to strategize and align the workforce. 

    ·         Manages staffing by establishing a talent acquisition process including: recruiting, testing, and interviewing assessments; providing guidance to managers on candidate selection, conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes in organizations policies, programs and practices.

    ·         Uses social networking and other resources to attract and retain talent for the organization.

    ·         Prepares employees for growth opportunities within the company by establishing and monitoring employee skills improvement through counselling and training programs.

    ·         Conducts periodic compensation and internal peer analysis, scheduling and conducting performance evaluations; recommends, plans, and implements pay structure revisions.

    ·         Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee skills by training managers to coach and discipline employees; schedules regular conferences between management and employees; hearing and resolution of employee grievances; counseling, training employees and supervisors or then current policies and practices.

    ·         Administers benefits programs such as, life, health, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance. Oversees stock options plans with vendors.

    ·         Assist in bidding with payroll agencies, insurance firms and other benefit program vendors.

    ·         Designs and conducts organization wide safety training program to ensure compliance to policies and practices.

    ·         Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records and representing the organization at hearings. Possesses detailed understanding of current labor laws and OSHA regulations.

    ·         Develops and updates management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.

    ·         Creates and implements educational workshops and seminars to continuously improve employee’s skills, productivity and organizational growth. Provides growth opportunities for employees through the development and research of training programs.

    ·         Supports managers with addressing job performance through the progressive disciplinary action plan; maintains, improves and monitors organizations skills inventory to meet current and future needs.

    ·         Monitors and maintains organizations risk management compliance to federal, state and corporate requirements.

    JOB REQUIREMENT

    ·         Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

    ·         MINIMUM OF 10 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE AS HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER IN OVER 100 EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATION.

    ·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading, managing, and supervising preferably in technology, engineering, or manufacturing environments.

    ·         Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively function as the organizations primary person to continuously improve organizations skills.

    ·         Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.

    ·         Strong problem-solving skills and sound business judgement to address current and future human resource development.

    ·         Proven track record in safety excellence.

    ·         Demonstrated high level of integrity and ethical behavior.

    ·         Demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.

    PREFERRED SKILLS

    ·         Work Experience in multi-national Corporation

    ·         Public speaking – Seminars, job fairs

    ·         Experience in recruiting high level management and technical personal such as design engineers in electromechanical and renewable energy fields

    ·         PHR or SPHR or equivalent Certification preferred
