    Job Description

    As a Police Payroll Technician with the Pueblo Police Department, you’ll verify payroll information related to hours worked, overtime, shift differential, and other payroll information, prepare paperwork for special events and grant funds, and prepare overtime, seniority and compensatory time reports. You’ll also process leave requests, prepare monthly evaluation forms, and complete workers’ compensation paperwork.

    Qualifications

    • A valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment
      • License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification
      • During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license

    Additionally, qualified candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

    • One (1) year of related payroll experience and at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
    • At least 60 semester hours of post high school coursework at an accredited institution of higher education and at least two (2) years of related payroll experience
    • At least 30 semester hours of course work at an accredited institution of higher education and at least three (3) years of related payroll experience
    • At least six (6) years of related payroll experience, which must include a minimum of three (3) years experience as an Office Assistant or work in a similar position with the City of Pueblo and a high school diploma or GED
