    Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced Policy Analyst (Mid-Level) to support the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) through its upcoming IDIQ contract. The Policy Analyst will contribute to a variety of research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement projects focused on improving Medicaid and CHIP policy. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytic skills, policy expertise, and writing ability , with experience conducting policy research and analysis related to Medicaid or CHIP and a solid understanding of the federal and state policy environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct policy research and analysis on a wide range of Medicaid and CHIP topics.
    • Synthesize findings from environmental scans, literature reviews, stakeholder interviews, and data analysis.
    • ****Develop high-quality written products including issue briefs, memos, presentations, and reports.
    • Support the design and implementation of qualitative and/or quantitative research activities, including surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Analyze federal and state policy documents, legislation, and program data to inform MACPAC's work.
    • Engage with project team members and MACPAC staff to ensure deliverables are timely, accurate, and relevant.
    • Present findings to internal and external audiences in a clear, concise manner.
    • Support project management and contribute to quality assurance across analytic deliverables.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Master's degree or higher in public policy, public health, public administration, economics, political science, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience conducting policy research and analysis related to Medicaid, CHIP, or other public health programs.
    • Familiarity with the structure, financing, and policy landscape of Medicaid and CHIP at both federal and state levels.
    • Strong skills in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex policy issues and communicate them clearly in writing and verbally.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Collaborative, team-oriented work style with a client-service mindset.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience supporting federal or state government agencies.
    • Familiarity with federal and state Medicaid data sources (e.g., CMS reports, T-MSIS).
    • Experience contributing to policy analysis reports for federal policymakers or stakeholders.

    Clearance Requirements:

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
