Job Description
CNBC.com is seeking a reporter to cover the intersection of politics, the courts, and business. The reporter will break news, deliver scoops, and write sharp analysis that shows how decisions in Washington and the legal system affect companies, markets, and the economy.
This role requires someone who can mine stories from the courts, especially the Supreme Court, the Department of Justice, and other major legal battles with business implications. It’s about recognizing where the legal system and the business world clash—and turning those moments into journalism that resonates with a broad audience.
The reporter will join a collaborative team that values flexibility and teamwork. While the primary focus will be on legal and political coverage, there will be occasions to jump in on major news and help colleagues across the newsroom. The ideal candidate is fast, accurate, and eager to deliver both breaking news and distinctive enterprise reporting.
