As a sort technician, you will be working with our customer’s process engineers to remove visible defects from batches of plastic pellets.Things like tiny black specks and even whole pellet contamination. You will accomplish this using state of the art sorting equipment that looks at every plastic pellet and decides which ones are good and which ones are bad. Then, using a strategically aimed blast of air, the defective pellets are removed. If it sounds cool, that’s because it is.

What makes us unique (we are the only ones in the world that do what we do) is that we are mobile. We take our equipment to where the problem is. That can be just about anywhere in the eastern half of the United States.

That means you will be doing a ton of travel. Some folks love it but others don’t so if you don’t like the idea of being on the road for weeks at a time then please don’t apply. You won’t be happy. But if travel excites you, especially travel where the company pays for your hotel and gives you a hefty meal allowance, then we want to hear from you.

So what skills do you need to be a great sort technician? Mostly we want you to be an amazing human being with a great work ethic and attitude. Someone we will like, trust and admire. Beyond that you need to have a clean driving record and be able to pass a DOT physical. And yeah, that includes a drug test so if you’ve recently been to Colorado and visited one of those “special” shops, you’ll need to pass on this.

If you are comfortable with a wrench or screwdriver in your hand that will be awesome too. Basic mechanical skills come in handy when something stops working. The more you can do without us having to call someone in to fix a minor issue the better.
