    Job Description

    Pomeroy has an immediate need for a contract to hire QA Analyst to work onsite in Los Angeles, CA. 

    Position Summary:

    The Cybersecurity, Business Continuity Planning and QA Group provides governance services in collaboration with IT and Investment Operations. Our mission is empowering our end users to make the best, timely decisions and actions in the investment lifecycle while providing governance solutions rooted in industry best-practices for infrastructure, data and application development.

    The QA Analyst position is a critical role in the application development process. The QA Analyst will work within scrum/agile development teams to understand business-critical functions and develop coherent and reusable test strategies. The QA Analyst will be intimately involved in business and technical requirements analysis, test planning, test case development, test case execution and monitoring results of manual and automated tests. The QA Analyst will collaborate closely with product owners, software development teams, and investment professionals.

    Essential Duties:

    ·      Review product requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

    ·      Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

    ·      Estimate, prioritize and plan testing activities

    ·      Execute automated and manual test scripts, monitor and effectively communicate test results

    ·      Effectively identify, record, document, and track bugs and production issues to resolution

    ·      Conduct root-cause analysis of non-conforming software

    ·      Identify and recommend improvements to software quality processes 

     

    Required Qualifications:

    ·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering field

    ·      7+ years of experience in software quality assurance with multiple development and testing platforms

    ·      Experience with cloud infrastructure, application development and testing practices

    ·      Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes

    ·      Strong background in relational databases and SQL scripting

    ·      Experience in writing clear and comprehensive test plans and test cases

    ·      Hands-on experience with white box, black box and regression test strategies

    ·      Experience working in development teams under different SDLCs, especially agile methodologies.

     

    Professional Skills Qualifications:

    ·      Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and non-technical information

    ·      Experience leading test review and analysis sessions across development and test teams

    Desired Qualifications:

    ·      5+ years of experience with back-end testing, Rest API or data validation testing

    ·      Experience with performance or security testing is a plus

    ·      Experience in financial services, fintech or testing of financial software/systems is a plus
