    We are seeking 2 VALUE STREAM MANAGERS that will support 2 of our market segments, in Fairburn GA. The ideal candidate is a strategic partner in manufacturing operations who will have responsibility for leading a value stream to achieve the required business results, including an obsession for customer satisfaction and employee engagement.

    This role develops and implements VS (Value Stream) strategies, policies, procedures and optimal infrastructure. It provides leadership, consultation and direction in the area of process set up, change overs, ordering/purchasing raw materials, labor planning, process troubleshooting, continuous improvement, preventative maintenance (PM). Lastly, the VSM, will instill the values of the Company to create and maintain a workplace culture which emphasizes bias for action, trust and entrepreneurial spirit.

    KEY DELIVERABLES

    • Leads a complex and diverse team of Production, Engineering and Maintenance team members in a Safety-First culture.
    • Ensures team members are trained and qualified to perform their jobs. Ensures all team members are following safety rules.
    • Ensures that product and processes meet customers’ highest expectations of quality and ensuring that lean manufacturing processes meet company requirements.
    • Reviews, modifies, and otherwise supports ISO (as applicable) and other company standard practices and procedures in connection with all department functions.
    • Engages team members in creating SOPs and Standard Work, 5S, cross training, associate development, and recognition.
    • Creates/Ensures Operations Segment’s operational budget. Manage labor and maintenance costs
    • Serves on various teams, conducts research, and provides input so policies/procedures are developed or changed to meet the needs of the customer and company.
    • Conducts purchasing of Raw Materials required to support the Business Segment.
    • Create the production schedule, creates/maintains labor plan, and communicates regularly with the Business Segment Leader to ensure alignment of priorities.
    • Monitor Segment Operations team’s performance and administer corrective action, as needed.
    • Ensure machinery is kept in safe and good operating condition. Issue work orders, as needed, for machinery repair and maintenance
    • Provide feedback to departments as needed (i.e. Purchasing, Engineering)
    • Determining the right priority at the right time and adjust resources as required to deliver on time in full.
    • Ensure internal and external measurements and systems are in place to effectively drive data driven problem solving (scientific method) and alignment of resources to achieve superior customer satisfaction, world class performance and strategic goals.
    • Ensures products are manufactured according to specifications, quality standards are met, and delivered on-time to customers.

     

    MANAGE THE VALUE STREAM P&L:

    • Responsible for implementing annual cost reduction initiatives and maintaining an active “cost savings project funnel” file to be reviewed with segment & Porex leadership.
    • Directs the preparation of expense budgets for the Value Stream and updates monthly forecasts during the year.
    • Conduct analysis of Current Costs versus Standard Costs
    • Determines capital, manpower and expense requirements, makes recommendations, and complete and submit Capital Investment Request when required.
    • Ensure that required preventative maintenance and repairs are budgeted and completed in assigned areas
    • Monitoring the utilization of materials and resources; identify wasteful practices and methods; resolve problems and communicate concerns as necessary.

Ability to effectively communicate to top management, vendors, customers and other employees of the organization.
    • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or other related field.
    • 5 or more years of experience in operations management.
    • Experience with complex manufacturing.
    • Must have the aptitude to exercise the 80/20 principle and coach the production team around it with SQDICP key results and expectations in mind.
    • Demonstrated success in Change Management and shifting the culture with step change in results.
    • Lean Manufacturing and DMAIC a plus.
