Position Summary
The Portfolio Construction Specialist supports complex case analysis and model portfolio construction for high-net-worth clients. This analytical role involves evaluating financial data, market conditions, and investment products to assist in developing portfolio recommendations.
The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Perform complex client case analysis and portfolio design
Provide portfolio recommendations and assist in model portfolio management
Collect and analyze client financial data using planning software tools
Develop preliminary planning recommendations for advisor review
Prepare charts, graphs, tables, and presentation materials
Align portfolio strategies with client risk tolerance, tax considerations, and time horizon
Ensure documentation and procedures comply with Ameriprise requirements
Provide administrative support, including preparation of correspondence and reports
Maintain compliance awareness and adhere to Ameriprise and regulatory standards
Complete additional projects as assigned
Qualifications
CFA designation required
1–2 years of finance or accounting experience
Strong knowledge of financial markets and investment products (mutual funds, annuities, SMAs, structured notes, alternative investments, ETFs)
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
Excellent organization and task management abilities
Professional and collaborative work style
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
Ability to adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements
Work Environment
Office-based role in Minnetonka, MN
