Hair Stylist (State College, PA)
We are looking for creative candidates with an eye for design for the position of Hair Stylist. Hair Stylist duties include consulting clients on hair styling options, describing the benefits of different hair care products, persuading clients to buy their retail products and staying updated on the latest hair trends and styling methods.
Additionally, Hair Stylists need to be expert "people persons" to attract and retain long term customers. This requires good interpersonal and conversational skills.
Must currently be a licensed stylist in the state of Pennsylvania
Stylist with a minimum of 3 years in the industry
Experience in both men's and women's haircuts, coloring, highlighting and styling.
Aveda trained stylist preferred but not required
Must be willing to work 40 hours per week, including Saturday’s
Ambitious, friendly, good energy, eager to learn and willing to strive to build their book

Creating hairstyles for formal events
Analyzing clients’ hair, facial features, and needs, and determining/recommending beauty treatments
Maintaining an appointment calendar through scheduling
Demonstrating and selling styling products
Learning and perfecting new styles and techniques
Maintaining and updating client records
Shaving and trimming beards, mustaches, and sideburns
Waxing eyebrows and facial hair
Trimming, cutting, and shaving hair using clippers, scissors, trimmers, and razors
Maintaining work stations.
Sanitizing tools and equipment
Applying chemical setting, straightening, or curling solutions
Using curlers, rollers, hot irons, and curling irons
Applying hair color, dye, and tints
Administering therapeutic scalp and hair treatments
Performing scalp, neck, and face massages
Applying hot towel treatments
