    Job Description

    As a Post Prep Technician, you’ll support both longform and shortform media workflows across post-production, quality control (QC), and content prep. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that ensures every frame meets NBCUniversal’s high standards and reaches viewers as intended.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform technical QC and Standards & Practices (S&P) screenings for shortform content.
    • Work hands-on with Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Iris, and other post-production tools.
    • Operate audio/video scopes to support QC functions.
    • Document and communicate technical and S&P issues to Program Operations and external partners.
    • Handle closed captioning and V-Chip encoding using Stanza.
    • Record feeds through AIRE Central Ingest.
    • Manage digital file movement (delivery, restore, archiving) and prepare assets for various workflows.
    • Generate downloadable content links via tools like Frame.io.
    • Leverage internal automation tools to prep, review, and track content.
    • Maintain exceptional client service standards and support additional operational tasks as needed.

    Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

    Qualifications/ Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
    • 1+ year of experience in post-production or familiarity with editing and QC screening.
    • Ability to read and interpret audio/video scopes.
    • Understanding of media file formats, codecs, resolutions, and content delivery systems.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
    • Must be able to work on-site in Stamford, CT (hybrid schedule).
    • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Hands-on experience with Avid, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and IRIS.
    • Strong organizational skills and a proactive, self-starting approach.
    • Skilled at juggling multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
    • Eagerness to learn emerging technologies and troubleshoot creatively.
    • Strong communicator with experience collaborating across departments, clients, and vendors.
    • Background in media asset management.
    • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.
    • Comfortable mentoring peers or training new team members.
