    Position Summary

    The Post Wave Inspection Operator is responsible for inspecting printed circuit boards (PCBs) after the wave soldering process to ensure conformance to quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves visual inspection, touch-up soldering, and documentation to support high-quality electronic assembly.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform detailed visual inspections of PCBs post wave soldering using magnification tools.
    • Identify and correct soldering defects such as bridges, cold solder joints, or insufficient solder.
    • Conduct basic rework and touch-up soldering as necessary.
    • Verify component orientation, polarity, and part placement according to assembly drawings and documentation.
    • Document inspection results and report quality issues or recurring defects.
    • Ensure all work meets IPC-A-610 Class II or III standards as required.
    • Collaborate with wave solder operators and quality technicians to resolve process issues.
    • Follow proper ESD handling procedures and safety guidelines.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and process control.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Experience in wave soldering or selective soldering environments.
    • Familiarity with ESD-safe practices and environments
    • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
    • Experience with visual inspection standards such as IPC-A-610.
    • Basic soldering and rework skills preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
    • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills

    Education & Experience

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • 1–2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or PCB inspection.
    • Certification in IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 preferred.
