    Janssen Research & Development LLC, a Johnson & Johnson company, is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Fellow located in Titusville, NJ with up to 10% travel. Consideration will be given to candidates in looking to work remotely as well

    The Data Science Analytics & Insights team within Janssen R&D develops innovative solutions using a variety of data sources across multiple different disease areas. We are looking for an outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow with a focus on Computer Vision.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conceiving, developing and implementing analytics solutions to high-priority scientific problems.

    • Developing new methodologies to address challenges problems in computer vision and medical imaging.

    • Participating in cross-functional collaborations with external companies and internal scientific and data science teams.

    • Shaping internal collaborations and define the scope of research questions.

    • Extracting insight from complex, unstructured biomedical image or video data to improve drug discovery and healthcare (e.g., disease identification, patient stratification, disease insights).

    • Publishing findings in top biomedical and computer vision journals/conferences.

    • Clearly articulating highly technical methods and results to diverse audiences and partners to drive decision-making.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A Ph.D. in a quantitative field – Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

    • Experience with research in computational fields, including AI or biomedical domains required.

    • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, C++, or Java required.

    • Experience with advanced analytics techniques – including random forest, SVM, boosting, neural networks, regression, etc. - required.

    • Ability to effectively communicate technical work to a wide audience.

    • Passionate about using data to drive scientific innovation.

    • At least 5 years of hands-on technical data analysis and modeling experience preferred.

    • Experience with modern computer vision techniques such as CNNs, RNNs, GANs, or transformers preferred.

    • Experience with traditional Computer Vision applications such as: OpenCV, object detection, edge detection, image segmentation preferred.

    • Experience with biomedical imaging data such as pathology or radiology preferred.

    • Experience working closely with healthcare professionals preferred.

    • Experience with relevant disease biology in cancer, immunology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, or infectious disease preferred.
