JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for keying &/or importing time entry from an automated time keeping software system. This payroll is a high volume, union payroll with strict deadlines. Specialist ensures information is transmitted timely and accurately from various field offices by communicating and building relationships with branch office personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Audit and assimilate time sheets as received for weekly payroll
Key and balance time in accordance with various union agreements
Meet strict weekly deadlines by coordinating with payroll team and field offices
Process payroll using Oracle based software and verify final payroll and reports prior to posting
Certified Payrolls and Davis Bacon reporting
Process garnishments and levies according to State/Federal guidelines
Various admin duties to include State Unemployment & other employment verifications, I-9 tracking and validation, maintaining employee personnel files
REQUIRED SKILLS
Alpha numeric keying with accuracy is a must.
Expert knowledge of overtime rules, deductions, benefits and accruals for Unions.
Proficient in state and federal wage and hour laws.
Working knowledge of job costing as relates to wage, benefits and accruals.
Must be proficient in Excel.
Customer service experience dealing with a high volume of field personnel.
Reliable and dependable, willing to work beyond normal hours when necessary.
OVERVIEW
Proofs timesheets and enters time into JDE Software. 25%
Uploads time from remote time entry software. 20%
Runs JDE Reports and submits payroll edits to HR for approval. 15%
Prints checks, stuff, sort and disperse to field offices, 10%
Performs admin duties, scanning, filing, and reporting. 20%
Customer Service – answer employee questions, work with base personnel 10%
