We are seeking Grant Compliance Assistant to support the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Division of Student Support, Academic Enrichment, and Educational Policy in Baltimore, Maryland.

    Job Brief:

    The Grant Compliance Assistant is to assistant to assist the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Division of Student Support, Academic Enrichment, and Educational Policy with the support of implementation of grant program and fiscal requirements. This position will be responsible for conducting reviews of programmatic and fiscal data to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines. As one of the requirements of Every Student Succeeds Act, MSDE must ensure that Out-of School Time programs are effective and maintain program and fiscal compliance.

    Responsibilities:

    • Verify and review subgrantee renewal applications and start up program reports.

    • Review subgrantee budget and reimbursement invoice documents for compliance.

    • Review subgrantee program documents for adherence to state and federal guidelines.

    • Provide weekly updates on subgrantee adherence to program and fiscal compliance to Section Chief and Director of Youth Development Branch

    • Attend weekly meetings with Fiscal Compliance Monitor.

    • Complete all requirements of this solicitation in a timeframe not to exceed 1000 hours.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 2 years experience providing program and fiscal support for state and/or federal grants recipients.

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in education, or a related field.

    • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

    • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Suites including Word, and Excel.

    • Demonstrate excellent oral and writing skills

    Skills:

    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document preparation.

    • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
