    Job Description

    Media Relations/Client Service Managers are responsible for senior client counsel, account team management, development and execution of PR and communications strategies. Strong preference is given to candidates with substantial business media relationships and a proven track record of landing clients in top-tier business publications. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead strategy development and implementation of PR programs
    • Provide senior counsel for accounts, including serving as primary liaison and maintaining agency relationship with senior client contacts 
    • Financial Steward of client budget, efficiently mastering team allocations, reducing over-servicing and increasing profitability, reporting into CFO
    • Lead, manage and develop junior staff—we are always either training or being trained, no matter our title or role
    • Organically grow client relationships 
    • Develop written materials, as well as supervising writing quality and editing of materials developed by team members including pitches and op-eds
    • Cultivate key media contacts/influencers and bridge those relationships for our clients; securing high-level client coverage
    • Oversee digital/social media strategy for client accounts 
    • Oversee client account administration as it relates to agency policy
    • Partner with executive team to implement and evangelize our process and our culture internally and externally

     

    Qualifications / Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree with approximately 7-10 years experience in PR (agency or client-side)
    • Proven account leadership skills, with big picture understanding of each client’s industry, subject matter and operations 
    • Confident and effective speaker and presenter, as well as an active listener open to feedback 
    • Sophisticated writing skills with experience developing high-level strategic documents, including but not limited to public relation programs, high-level strategic documents, client proposals, SOWS
    • Established experience across all media strategy including digital/social media strategy; consistently monitoring and recommending new initiatives, tech, and/or platforms 
    • Experience in working across multiple industry sectors 
    • Proven ability to retain and build client relationships, including managing through challenges 
    • Proven ability to manage teams that generate results, and treat one another with care and respect
    • Innovative, creative thinker and team player
    • Proven ability to work alongside finance team to maintain and grow profitability across accounts
